1- The Geography of the Governorate :

- Location :

• Kafr El-Sheikh is located in the middle east of the Nile Delta , where it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea Shore in the north and the River Nile (Rashid Branch) in the west . The International Coastal Road ( which joins all the Mediterranean Sea countries ) passes in the north of it . The road will play a role in the movement of international commerce and tourism.The administrative devision.

• The Governorate is divided into 10 centers , 10 cities , 44 local units , 205 villages , and 1695 sub-villages . The total area : 3748 km2.

2- Climate :

Kafr El-Sheikh Governrate is distinguished by its moderate climate in summer and winter as it is located on the shore of the Mediterrenean Sea and Lake Brulus is in the north of it . The governrate shores are considered a distinct resort for those who seek for quietness and relaxation with the fascinating nature.

3- Industry :

There are a lot of factories which give products with high quality in Kafr El-Sheikh Governrate such as:

• A factory of milks and their products at Sakha.
  
• Rice mills in Kafr El-Sheikh , Dosouq and Beiala.
  
• The station of sieving and seeds at Sakha.
  
• The factory of poultry forage in Kafr El-sheikh.
  
• Alexandria factory for oils and soaps.
  
• Middle West Delta Mills.
  
• The red beet sugar factory in El-Hamool.
  
• The oil hydrogenation factory.
  
• The first industrial area in Balteem : This area is expected to be one of the most important industrial areas because it is on the International Coastly Rood and on the rood of Kafr El-Sheikh / Hamool / Balteem. Its area is 114 feddans, The unmber of requests for establishing industrial projects in it is 116 projects.
  
• The Second industrial area in Mutobus Centre : It is on the International Coastly Road near Rashid Bridge on the Nile, Its area is 1160 feddans . It is decided that 600 projects will be established in the industrial area.
  

4- The agriculture:

- The agricultural activity :

The cultivated area in the Governrate is 554000 feddans of the best soil , in addition to the lands which are reclaimed evey year and added to the producing lands and these lands are mainly distributed on the graduate youth of the Governrate . The Governrate is famous for cultivativing rice ( 30 % from the republic production ) , cotton , wheat , beans and beetroot.

- The agricultural reform :

agricultural reform sector participates effectively in developing the agricultural production and the animal and domestic wealth through several successful projcets in Kafr El-Sheikh Governrate.

- The research centres :

are several researh centres , which serve the agricultural sector such as :

• centre of training and rice researches.
  
• Mubarak centre for mechanical agriculture in Sakha.
  
• The sieving station in Sakha . The supervision of development and cooperatives . It performs several services beside developing the new lands and distributing them on the graduate youth and supervising the projects subject to the agricultural companies.
